DEPARTMENT:      Supply Chain (JHB Distribution Centre, Isando)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To lead, manage and coordinate the optimum operational performance of the Distribution Centre through entrenching a performance based culture of continuous improvement and health and safety awareness in line with the Sikhula KunYe Culture.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the operational performance of the full FMCG function in the Distribution Centre by reducing costs and increasing efficiency and effectiveness
  • Day to day management of Temp Employment Service (TES)
  • Gives input into the Production and Capacity Planning – space; people, equipment & technology in alignment with projected inflow and outflow volumes
  • Provides input into the FMCG strategy for the DC
  • Communicates the FMCG operational plans to all staff
  • Ensures operations and processes are aligned for new projects and provides staff training to support changes
  • Implements supply chain projects, applying processes and methodologies in accordance with best practices
  • Entrenches all SOPs throughout FMCG department and update where required with relevant stakeholders
  • Manages risk by complying with health & safety requirements and training staff to adopt best practices
  • Facilitates team work and motivates workforce- staff morale
  • Manages team performance and facilitates development of team

 

JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 year Diploma/Degree in Warehouse Management/Supply Chain/Operations Management
  • 5 years’ FMCG experience in middle/senior management role (prerequisite)
  • Computer Literacy: MS Office (with Advanced Excel)
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations will be an advantage
  • WMS exposure will be an advantage
